Stripping, Cleaning and Polishing Unsealed Wood

Vacuum

- Ensure floor is thoroughly clean and dry by vacuuming or wiping with a cloth.

Strip

1. Attach the #60 Grit Sandscreen Disc to the ORECK Orbiter by 'velcroing' it under the Brown Scrub Pad. Go over the floor quickly sanding in the opposite direction to the way the floor boards are running.
2. Remove residue and dust by sweeping and vacuuming the area.
3. Repeat this process with the #80 and #100 Grit Sandscreen if required.

Scrub

1. Lightly spray ORECK Timber Works™ Wood Floor Cleaner in a 6'x6' (1.83m2) area. Do not over-saturate.
2. Allow to sit for about one minute to enable the cleaner to cut through any built-up grease and dirt.
3. Attach the White Polish Pad or the Brown Scrub Pad (for very dirty flooring) to the ORECK Orbiter and thoroughly scrub the prepared area.
4. Repeat these steps if required.

Polish

1. Ensure floor is thoroughly clean and dry by vacuuming or wiping with a cloth.
2. Attach the drive pad holder to the Orbiter, then fit the White Polishing Pad or Red Scrub Pad (for slightly dirtier floors) and apply a thin coat of Trewax Clear/Indian Sand Paste Wax to the flooring.
3. Apply to complete floor area ensuring that the wax is evenly spread and thoroughly worked into the flooring. Work Orbiter from side to side and spread out the Paste Wax to a thin coat. If applying to a wood floor use the Union Brush to work the Paste Wax into the cracks. This brush can also be used to redistribute wax that has been pushed to the floor edges or to blend in excess wax, to maintain an even coat and eliminate wax build-up.
4. Let wax dry to a dull haze for at least 5 minutes.

Buff

When the wax has dried, remove the White Polishing Pad, then attach the Lambs Wool Bonnet and buff the floor until it looks clear and polished.

Repeat polishing and buffing steps if required.
