Practical Caravan: Oreck Compact Canister

Many People use a simple 12V hand-held vacuum cleaner in a caravan, but these are often a bit weedy. The mains powered Oreck isn’t as small as the name suggests, but if you struggle to clean up after the kids, dog or the other half, this produces plenty of power and has a wide range of accessories to reach tricky corners. It has a shoulder strap, so is easy to move around with in the van and, at under 2.5kg,won’t upset your payload.

The smell was just right and when I walked in there was a subtle clean scent. I did vacuum after use – it would have been too overpowering if not. I initially thought it was pricey but it went a long way so it is actually good value.
